Making Salt Dough

This was a simple and fun activity that can lead to lots of possibilities. The recipe for salt dough is: 


- 1 cup table salt 
- 2 cups plain flour 
- 1/2 -1 cup cold water


Because the dough isn't going to be eaten we did it on the kitchen floor so Jake could really get stuck in! The process teaches lots of skills needed for baking and generally helps with coordination and dexterity, and explores textures, shapes and creation!

When the dough was cut into circles and the other shapes that we had moulded, we put it into the oven for 2 hours at 110 degrees, until it had gone hard.
