Christmas Baking - Gingerbread

I love baking with Jake; he really enjoys it, is totally engaged and its a great collaborative activity that he can really be involved with. Christmas is a great time for baking, for the home, or for gifts. These gingerbread biscuits were meant to be gifts; but they didn't quite last long enough. :)

We measured our ingredients

Poured them into the bowl

...tried the ingredients...

all the ingredients together in the bowl...

...lots of yummy golden syrup!

stir everything together until you start to get a breadcrumb like mixture

then knead into a ball of dough

until you have something that looks a bit like this.

roll the dough out and cut into whatever you want.

We did hearts, stars and christmas trees, and added holes to allow hanging (which we would have done had we not eaten it all!)

Pop in the oven for 10-15 minutes at about 180 degrees (fan oven)

and then you have delicious christmas gingerbread

We also made a gingerbread house (post coming soon), gingerbread men, and gingerbread candy canes. We iced this biscuits soon, and they looked wonderful - Ill try and post that up soon too!
