Small World: Ocean Sensory Play

I love small world play and sensory trays, I think because it allows me to be bit creative too! :-) 

First I made this aquatic coloured playdough. (for a basic recipe see here). I added blue food colouring to green playdough to get the lovely swirly effect. 

Then I added some of the turquoise 'bath crystals', green glitter and blue sequins to get a sparkly effect that the sea gets in the sun. For the beach I simply added sand, shells and pebbles, and a couple of palm trees (from a puffy sticker set we had). I also threw in a couple of small plants as sea weed. And to finish a dolphin and a shark. 

Lovely!
Jake also went and found his whale to play too
Jakes actual words when I got this out were:
"Wow! Mummy, that's amazing!"

    Your son was right, this is amazing for the little ones! If someone doesn't have sand at home they could also use a sand play dough recipe. Thanks for sharing. My girls will love this.

    This looks really fun to build....we've done sensory trays to learn writing skills but still haven't tried one of these yet!
